Social Initiative @ XXXLdigital

Even in countries like Austria live people who are affected by poverty and do not have enough money for a hot meal. Together with colleagues from our department XXXLdigital we wanted to take on social responsibility in order to help poorer-situated people. Within a brainstorming session we have listed the following goals, ideas and wishes:
Doing a good deed as a department
Support of social projects
Carrying out social activities
Social engagement & teambuilding
The idea
The idea was born: let’s start a social employee initiative for our department XXXLdigital! A social employee initiative called „digital aktiv“.
Digital aktiv is a social employee initiative of XXXLdigital and our central contact point for social commitment within our department. Every colleague from our department can participate on a voluntary basis. We’ve founded digital aktiv in December 2018. The social employee initiative is organized by an organization team. Our goal is to carry out social activities and support social projects, in order to support people who need help.
Initiatives until now:
Hospital Wels-Grieskirchen (April 2019)
Due to the Easter time we‘ve distributed Easter chocolate at the children's ward in the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic. The activity was financed by the voluntary donations of the colleagues.
Le+O
Colleagues from XXXLdigital regularly support the Caritas-project Le+O. Le + O coordinates the food distribution for people affected by poverty. Food that is still good but can no longer be sold is saved from the waste and distributed to those people who are affected by poverty.

Easter initiative in Wels
In-kind-donations for the homeless
We‘ve collected in-kind-donations at our locations in Vienna, Wels and Barcelona. We‘ve donated clothes, care products and durable food to homeless people with the help of the following organizations:

Santa elves at Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic
On the 12th of December, our Santa elves Maja Malinovic, Thomas Hinterreiter & Sebastian Castaneda distributed Christmas presents at the Klinikum Wels-Grieskirchen GmbH! The activity was primarily financed by digitalaktivs voluntary donations!
Team events
Is there anything better than having fun with your favourite colleagues and at the same time doing something good for our society? That’s why we also celebrate on a regular basis and organize team events for our colleagues. Digital aktiv is financed by voluntary donations and team events. The Orga-team collects a flat fee. After the costs have been covered, the profit benefits the social initiative.

Outlook 2020
Our vision for 2020 is to focus solely on social commitment. This means a stronger focus on social activities aimed at the poorer-situated. For instance, we will continue to support Caritas project Le+O, cooking for the homeless or distributing Christmas gifts on a children's ward in the hospital. We can use the revenue from team events or membership fees to finance those activities. We believe that we will be able to do much more in the future!
