Onboarding in times of Corona

 

Onboarding @XXXLdigital a bit different…

Welcome at XXXLdigital: beginning of April, three highly appreciated individuals started working for us, but this time was completely different!

The challenge was to ensure a complete contactless start:

 

1. Hardware handover

 

The first challenge for our Head of Data Warehouse, Wolfgang Hesse, was to ensure that the hardware was passed on to his new team members without contact. Curious how this works? Have a look for yourself how they handled it:

 
 

2. Virtual welcome-meeting

60 minutes later the first welcome-meeting took place – of course in the digital space via Webex. The new employees had the opportunity to get to know their colleagues and were informed about the next steps.

Our welcome week for new employees including a welcome day and jumpstarts will take place in the next few weeks via Webex.

The whole onboarding program has to take place virtually in our new colleagues’ home offices. To ensure a successful and at least a bit personal onboarding they meet up in the digital space and have regular update calls with the team. Moreover, they have the opportunity to interact with their new colleagues via Slack and Email and to stay up to date.

 

Work day at home

Our employees have the chance to join virtually from 8:00 - 9:00  a “Morning Glory Espresso” to have a chat with their new colleagues.

That’s what we call XXXLteamspirit even within these special circumstances!
